Lettuce, Future Rock and Turbo Suit team up for New Year's Eve blowout in Chicago at The Riv on December 31, 2015

Silver Wrapper and Jam present Lettuce with special guests Future Rock, Turbo Suit and more TBA on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at The Riviera Theatre. After celebrating their 20th anniversary as modern day rulers of old school funk, the Brooklyn-based juggernaut Lettuce is not showing any signs of slowing. "We’re more together and set to crush than ever before," says drummer and chief songwriter Adam Deitch of the all-star group that he and his accomplished band-mates cut their teeth with back in their Berklee School of Music days. That much history, along with the A-list crop of projects that each member has taken on away from Lettuce, gives the group a bottomless well of musical ideas and unrivaled chemistry—in fact, referring to themselves as a band of brothers. "I was in a practice room at 16 with these guys, and it all clicked," says lead bassist Erick "Jesus" Coomes. "We all felt rhythms in similar ways. We were all about the pocket from day one." After having the most successful year of the bands career in 2014, Lettuce is ready to rage.

Chicago’s electronic rock stalwarts Future Rock continue to pound out pulsating beats with the verocity of a 70′s era rock band. They are justly celebrated for legendary performances that turn crowds everwhere into a vast and energized dance floor, forcing even the palest and most resolutely hard-to-impress hipsters to call up their inner dance monsters. Live performances combine loops, samples and Mickey Kellerman’s keyboards with Darren Heitz’s drums plus Felix Moreno’s Larry Graham-style bass slapping to create an enormously powerful groove. Their light show is as good as their music, and their set have been known to inspire dance frenzies.

Turbo Suit is a vibrant voice in live electronic music. The versatile Indianapolis trio is comprised of David Embry on production and vocals, Nicholas Gerlach on tenor saxophone and EWI, and Jeff Peterson on drums.

Lotus to play two night run at The Riv on November 27-28, 2015

Silver Wrapper and Jam present two nights of Lotus on Friday, November 27, 2015 and Saturday, November 28, 2015 at The Riviera Theatre. Lotus returns to Chicago for TWO nights! Lotus has crafted a unique musical style outside of simple genre limitations. On a given weekend the band could be the only group with guitars at an all electronic music festival and then the next night crash a traditional rock festival with their dance heavy beats, synths and samples. Equal parts instrumental post-rock and electronic dance, the band's distinguishing feature is the ability to maintain a decidedly unique musical voice and remain current while bucking passing trends.

No matter what the venue, the energetic joy and catharsis of a Lotus show is infectious. The band slowly built a devoted fan base through steady touring and the crowds have grown at an increasing pace. This grassroots growth has made the band in high demand for festivals including Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Ultra, and Rothbury and earned the band sold out shows at the country's premier theatres and clubs.

Doors at 7:30 pm. Show at 8:30 pm. Ages 18+.

Greensky Bluegrass kicks off 2016 with two night run at The Vic on January 1 and January 2

Silver Wrapper and Jam present Greensky Bluegrass with special guests Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers on Friday, January 1, 2015 and Saturday, January 2, 2015 at The Vic Theatre. Greensky Bluegrass have forged a defiant, powerful sound that, while rooted in classic stringband Americana, extends outwards with a fearless, exploratory zeal. The tension and release between these components – tradition and innovation, prearranged songs and improvisation, acoustic tones and electric volume – is what makes them so thrillingly dynamic, in concert and on record.

That their sound is so seamless, so organic, is testament to Greensky’s enduring vision and tireless dedication. Since their first rumblings at the start of the millennium, they have emerged as relentless road warriors, creating a captivating live show while at the same time developing a knack for evocative, disarming songcraft.

ODESZA brings "In Return World Tour 2015" to Chicago at Aragon Ballroom on November 21, 2015

Silver Wrapper and React present ODESZA with special guests TBA on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Aragon Ballroom. In 2012, a striking new voice emerged from the wider surge of electronic music in the U.S. ODESZA's Summer's Gone stood out from the crowd; it was a collection of songs, not just beats; and its irresistible, startling dreaminess, addictive drums and fathoms-deep bass set it apart from the by-the-numbers brutality of EDM's also-rans. In an age of manufactured internet buzz and carefully plotted hype, ODESZA's story was refreshingly authentic: A brilliant new duo unveiled their music on the internet, and the world paid attention.

Released September 9, 2014, In Return has more than just delivered on the promise of ODESZA's previous work. A record with a precocious maturity and coherence, it's a start-to-finish stunner of pop-infused, electronic wonder, littered with infectious hooks and potent atmosphere. Vocal performances from Zyra, Py and Shy Girls accompany that of Madelyn Grant on “Sun Models,” expertly worked into ODESZA's trademark, mood-altering uplift. ODESZA developed a new live performance to accompany In Return, ensuring that the shows do full justice to the album. Their work ethic and constant evolution has resulted in sold out headline tours of North America last fall, Australia this winter and North America again this spring with every show selling out in advance in the biggest venues they've headlined to date. Never ones to settle, ODESZA's ambitious live production continues to expand in time for performances at every major music festival this summer including Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Hangout, Sasquatch, Governors Ball, Firefly, Melt and more.

One of the stunning aspects of ODESZA is the speed with which they've created a large, devoted fanbase – testament to just how refreshing, immediate and exciting their music is. Don't miss ODESZA's Return World Tour 2015 Chicago performance this fall at Aragon Ballroom Saturday, November 21st, 2015.

Hot Buttered Rum returns to Chicago on September 23, 2015 at 1st Ward / Chop Shop

Silver Wrapper presents Hot Buttered Rum on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015 at 1st Ward / Chop Shop. Hot Buttered Rum lives for songs. Songs to sing in the shower. Songs to crank through your earbuds at the DMV. Songs to name your babies after, and then make more babies to. The band’s three songwriters — Nat Keefe, Erik Yates and Aaron Redner — spin tales about the good times, the bad times, and the roads in between, and belt them from the heart in three-part harmony. Bryan Horne’s athletic standup bass and Lucas Carlton’s tasteful percussion combine with the acoustic instruments to create what is California’s own acoustic music. Hot Buttered Rum’s years of touring have given the band the chance to work and play with a wide cross-section of musicians, people like Phil Lesh, Chris Thile, Brett Dennen, and Robert Earl Keen. Seasoned veteran Steve Berlin (Los Lobos), acoustic guru Mike Marshall, and left-coast rocker Tim Bluhm (Mother Hips, Nicki Bluhm) have all produced studio albums for the band. Each guided HBR towards the next step in its evolution. It’s a sound that’s as tough to describe as it is easy to love, and it has found its way to the most prestigious pop, folk, and bluegrass stages in the country: Telluride, Newport, Bonnaroo, Strawberry, Hardly Strictly, Kate Wolf, Horning’s Hideout, String Summit, Grey Fox, All Good, High Sierra, Wakarusa, and many more.

Tipper and Friends to play Three Nights in Chicago, IL at Thalia Hall this August 21-23, 2015

Silver Wrapper and Infrasound present Tipper and Friends for Three Nights in Chicago, IL from Friday, August 21, 2015 to Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Thalia Hall.

After last year's sold out show at Portage Theatre, Tipper returns to Chicago in the more intimate confines and beautiful setting that is Thalia Hall. Modeled after the Prague Opera House and built in 1892, the Hall was a beacon of the neighborhood community and existed as one of the most ornate theaters of its times. It was granted landmark status in 1985, but was closed to the public in the 1960s and remained virtually untouched until the end of 2013 when the new owners began work on it. It has been restored to its original charm and character, but also treated acoustically to bring a wide array of music, community, and artistic events to the neighborhood it serves.

In celebration of such an inspiring undertaking, Tipper and Friends are going to spend 3 nights at Thalia Hall presenting three different experiences across each night. Friday night will feature a Tipper Downtempo or Journey Set, with support from Ion Driver and visual manipulations by the esteemed Johnathan Singer. Saturday night Tipper will present an Uptempo Set and turn off the visuals, inviting everyone to put on their dancing shoes and spend the night smiling at each other instead of the stage. Sunday night Tipper changes gears again, and for only the 3rd time ever (and first time in the Midwest) present his sit down Ambient Set, encouraging everyone in GA to bring pillows or cushions to get comfy and absorb the visuals by Johnathan Singer matching Tipper’s ambient flow.

Invited as the sole artist in residence for this occasion, XAVI will be Live Painting all three nights and also produce an exclusive show poster which he will reveal closer to the event. There are everything from seated balcony to opera box seats, friendly staff, and great sound on offer for Tipper's only Chicago area show for 2015. All 3 shows are 17+. See you there.

Silver Wrapper presents Goldfish (Live) with special guests Auto Body on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 1st Ward / Chop Shop.

At the core of Goldfish has always been the collision of real, live "organic" instruments with electronic beats, creating an uplifting blend of dance music. Over the past few years a ground swell of like minded artists has begun to develop the same organic musical aesthetics. It seems like almost overnight this sound that we love so much has exploded online and onto the collective airwaves worldwide. Some people refer to it as "Deep House" - and although it does owe a fair amount of inspiration to this genre, it definitely has its own set of unique characteristics, so we found the need to differentiate it with its own genre: "Organic House" was born. Listen to Goldfish "Organic House" album here. This compilation features some of the biggest tracks currently rocking dance floors, as well as a selection of future classics. It’s more than just a compilation of the freshest sounds but a state of the nation: Organic house.

Conceived in and birthed from Austin's steamy underground houses of Rock, Auto Body is live Electro Fusion. Fueled by their shared bloodlust for sonic divinity, and armed with a war chest of synthesizers, samplers, rattlesnakes, and a bass guitar, Tibaut Bowman (DJ Thibault) and Felix Moreno (Future Rock), crusade the universe in search of the electronic Holy Grail.

Turbo Suit to headline Lincoln Hall on Friday, February 13, 2015

Silver Wrapper presents HEADLINER with special guests Muzzy Bearr and Inverse Universe on Friday, February 13th, 2015 at Lincoln Hall.

Turbo Suit is a vibrant voice in live electronic music. While under the name Cosby Sweater, the band has been making crowds dance since their launch in 2012. They have shared the stage with Pretty Lights, Umphrey’s McGee, The Disco Biscuits, Lotus, Deltron 3030 and EOTO, and performed at a plethora of top national festivals. On multiple occasions the band has been joined by Joel Cummins of Umphrey’s McGee on keyboards. Turbo Suit consistently drops new original music with songs that are infectiously danceable, making it impossible not to groove along with the winding, sensual saxophone melodies and ultra-accessible beats.

Muzzy Bearr and Inverse Universealso set to perform.

Doors at 8pm. Show at 9pm. Ages 18+.
