An all star funk line-up sure to please. Featuring: Rodney Jones (of the JBs) on guitar, Dr. Lonnie Smith on B3, Idris Muhammad on drums, Arthur Blythe on tenor, and special guest Fred Wesley. "The Soul Manifesto is not about the beat...it's about the vibe," says Jones, who believes that this endeavor will hit close to his musical roots. Helping to create the groove that Jones envisions are saxophonist Arthur Blythe, drummer Idris Muhammad and Dr. Lonnie Smith on keys. Jones looked for musicians with different styles but similar values.
