FREAKuency Alignment - July 30th LATE, 2005
the New Deal w/ Conspirator
After completely blowing the roof off of Logan Square Auditorium last March, returning from a year-touring hiatus, the New Deal come back to Chicago with its brand of live improvised breakbeat house music. If you didn't know, the New Deal bridges the live music and dance communities with explosive performances that play like a DJ set (seamless mixes from one song or style to another) with the ability to ride with and steer an energetic dance crowd. And that's exactly what you should expect. So, get ready.

The Disco Biscuits' bassist Marc Brownstein and keyboardist Aron Magner have unveiled their new electronic project, Conspirator, which includes DJ Omen on turntable. Conspirator elaborates on the work that Brownstein and Magner do with Biscuits, pushing it further into the electronica realm. The live presentation is a dance-oriented combination of thoughtfully composed songs and tracks, touching on styles from down-tempo to psychedelic-house, trance, and drum and bass.
