Band Info

Vinyl
8-piece, San Francisco-based Vinyl is a band dedicated to making people dance. With such gigs as the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, High Sierra Music Festival, and Berkfest, under its belt, Vinyl is no stranger to packed houses and partying scenes. Since getting together in 1995, Vinyl has performed live over 600 times and in 1999 was named one of the top 25 bands in the country by a nationwide poll by Jambands. Mixing funk, reggae, Latin beats, and R&B, Vinyl's mission is to produce infectious grooves that get the party going.

Topaz
Topaz, self-titled after Texan tenor saxophonist, Topaz, was formed in 1998 in NYC. Getting its start as a regular Friday night gig known as "Groove Church" at The Bell Cafe in Manhattan, Topaz now spreads the funk nationally. Their influences range from afro-beat king, Fela Kuti, to legendary jazz artists like John Coltrane and Miles Davis, creating a hip mix of funk, fusion and jazz. Topaz's joins the ranks of Soulive on the Velour label with his latest release, "Listen!".
