Gettin' It All Together - October 30, 2004 Not a night of rehashing the tired a true standards of their day or giving props to the musical luminaries GIAT intends to show the underlining connections between unlikely companions. These "fellow travelers" may include the dub-drenched lo-fi of Jamaica's King Tubby, the bubbling B-3 flourishes from San Antonio's Mickey and the Soul Generation, the afro-funk rhythms of Zaire's Orchestra Lissanga or the more current manifestations like the jazz infused hip hop of Japan's DJ Mitsu and the soulful grooves of Finland's JP's Testament. GIAT mission is to resurrect these overlooked creations while showing that there is plenty of new blood that continues to get down to the bone. So whether one is listening to the monster sounds of The Outlaw's Four “Million Dollar Legs" rap, DJ Dolores' “Catimbo" modern bossa beat or Bobby Boucher's “The Bubble Bust" cut ‘n mix funk we can all agree to be one nation under a groove getting down just for the funk of it. GIAT will also be featuring a backdrop of the strangest and most demented horror films from around this world. These perverted celluloid pieces of sinema will include the 1966 Philippine vampire drive-in classic “Kulay Dugo Ang Gabi" aka “The Blood Drinkers", Jesse Franco's 1970 masterpiece of erotic cinema “Vampyros Lesbos", Mexican wrestling legend's “Santo Y Blue Demon Contra el Dr. Frankestein", the mind-bending lunacy of 1972's “Psyched By The 4D Witch" and the stylized Sadean sex of Jesse Rollin's 1971 “Requiem For A Vampire".
