Silver Wrapper and Live Nation announce Digital Tape Machine with Up Until Now w/s/g David Murphy of STS9 as "The Official UM & STS9 After Party" at House of Blues on Saturday, August 17, 2013 after Umphrey's McGee and STS9 play Charter One Pavilion. Digital Tape Machine is a Chicago-based band featuring Kris Myers, Joel Cummins, Joe Hettinga, Bryan Doherty, David Arredondo, Marcus Rezak, and Dan Rucinski. The digital, yet analog force behind Digital Tape Machine produces a very modern, electronic sound. Often compared to video game music, elements of electronic dance, tech house, dance house, deep house, post-industrial, drum ‘n bass and hip-hop are all woven into a live show. This edgy, danceable music has been met by enthusiastic crowds who are thirsty for more. The band just released their debut album, Be Here Now, available on iTunes.
Jay Murphy of Up Until Now has so far lived his life completely centered and orbiting around music. He comes from a collective past involved in bands with genres of reggae, world beat, rock, hip hop, funk, electro-pop,and even heavy metal. With this project, he distills the pure essence in music that has always driven him, and channels it into electronic dance music with the sole purpose of making bodies move. Late last year, Up Until Now added drummer Kyle Holly and have been playing with special guest David Murphy of STS9 on bass and keyboards. Their latest EP, The Pleasure Sessions, is available as a free download from 1320 Records.
Doors @ 11:00pm. Show @ 11:30pm. Ages 17+.
